Profiles

We will spare you the mug shots but here are some profiles .... !

Neil Willis (Chairman & Observer)   As the current Chairman of NAB it is my role to chair committee meetings & provide a lead for the club`s structure. My prime objective is to ensure we have a good, organised and friendly club. We want to provide a good quality club with a high standard of training from our Observers - we want the best from our Associates and to develop their skills to test & beyond - but most of all to enjoy doing it ! We have a committed & approachable training team led by a highly qualified & experienced training manager.

Bike experience 34 years - Police Class 1 advanced driver for 25 years, finally got round to doing IAM bikes in 2008.Current bike - Aprilia RST1000 Futura.

Why IAM Observer ? - to put my own experience and training to good cause as you never stop learning. I prefer to think of it as `development` as opposed to training. Personally I just want to help save lives, keep my own skills up to date and have plenty of fun along the way. Occupation - serving Police Officer.

Pete Mason (Chief Observer / Training manager)        Bike - Own several including Honda CBF 1000.  I am a fully qualified motorcycle instructor and hold a diploma in advanced motorcycle instruction. Over the years I have taught many students whose experience and ability range from total novice to advanced level. I have learnt that riding a bike to a high standard is achievable for anyone who has the desire. Why not give it a go ? Make yourself safer and have some fun !

Paul Tonkin (Secretary, Observer)   14 years bike experience (excluding 17 years for family things !).  Bikes -  BMW R60/6, R1200S (3 other older bikes in tea chest awaiting my retirement)

Advanced rider before the hibernation years and keen to polish up skills on return. Being an Observer lets me see associates develop their own riding, but also gives me a reason to keep my skills at the right level and stay safe. Occupation - Diesel engine development engineer.

Peter Waite (Senior Observer & NABD member)   Bike - BMW F650GS (affectionately referred to by my fellow associates as a Nuffield tractor !).

I have achieved Senior Observer status over a few years despite my own disability and am keen to encourage all bikers of all ages. For me it`s all about education, safety and having some fun along the way. I am also a member of the National Association of Bikers with a Disability and the proof that disability is no bar to riding bikes.

Occupation - Disabled so not working, but active gym member and professional chatterbox with my fellow members. I also dedicate a lot of my own time promoting NAB.
