The IAM is a charitable
road safety
organisation
with Groups
around the Uk
affiliated to
it, promoting
its cause through
training followed
by an Advanced
Test.
The
Examiners who
carry out these
test are all
Police Class
One Advanced
riders.
This
is a nationally
recognised Advanced
Test ratified
and monitored
by the DSA.
There
is a comprehensive
debrief at the
end of the test
with appropriate
feedback and
advice for the
future.
The
IAM test is
a pass or fail,
in other words
a ride up to
the required standard,
or not up to
the required
standard.
Your
Observer is
there to assist
you to be fully
prepared for
the Test and
you will not
be recommended
to put in for
it until you
are both satisfied
that you are
at the required
level.
You
will usually
undergo a "cross-check"
with a Senior
Observer prior
to your test
to ensure that
nothing has
been missed
in your training, and
that you fully
understand what
is required
of you on the
day.
